1. I want to make changes to a job description from your eBook. Does that make your material an unfinished product?

This is an important point. Firstly, while I genuinely don’t like to toot my own horn, 25 years of exposure and achievement in this area has given me a pretty good grasp of the ‘structure’ of a job – and most jobs in your organization, even though I may not be familiar with your particular business! Moreover, I have a systematic technique – which I’ve outlined on the jobwriters.com home page.

Secondly, while I know what I’m doing, and will stand over my work, it’s perfectly reasonable for you to amend or modify some elements of the job summary, and the required knowledge, skills and behaviours to undertake it. After all, it’s your organization, not mine! The key point though, is that these changes will almost certainly be points of technical accuracy or to do with the particular ‘thrust’ of the job in your company with which I’m unfamiliar. In summary, wouldn’t you agree that it’s much easier to work with, or modify, a job description submitted to you, rather than have to construct it from scratch? Keep the structure, though. It works!

2. What kind of organization uses jobwriters.com?

Larger corporations are more likely to have their own internal human resource (or ‘talent management’) expertise. Accordingly, they tend to rely on their own internal solutions. However, with respect to the many successful major corporations worldwide, I would argue that the world is built on the collective achievement of small & medium sized enterprises - the owner/manager men and women out there trying to survive and build their businesses every day. Typically, my customer mix comes from these SMEs, drawn from a variety of economic activities - from manufacturing to the service sectors. They are ‘employing organizations’ across most sectors of activity, and more recently companies engaged in professional recruitment and executive search.

3. You offer a ‘money back’ guarantee if I’m not satisfied. Is this for real?

Absolutely. I know from experience that people respond positively to a high value product and great service. There will always be 3-5% who I’ll never be able to please, but that leaves over 95% who respect and acknowledge capability, integrity, results and most importantly - value. If it’s not quite right, I’ll try hard to resolve your query, but the guarantee stands.

4. Why do you charge a fee for a job description that I can write myself?

First of all, you’re perfectly entitled to write your own job descriptions. A proper job advertisement is based on an accurate description of its business purpose and content detail. A summary of the required knowledge, skills, behaviours and experience required completes it. However, I’ve learned over many years that this is an activity with which many business people are very uncomfortable. I read recently of one head-hunter who remarked that, in his experience, “employers have a pathological aversion to writing job descriptions!”

While it may appear easy at the outset, writing job descriptions can become a time-consuming and tedious task for which managers may not have the background, the training, nor the expertise in this activity. This is what I do, and like you I need to be paid for my expertise, which is saving your time. I’m also adding value to your business effort and to your managerial expertise. Moreover, if you’re about to invest significant costs-of-employment in some person, I would argue strongly that a modest investment which assists in accurately defining what is to be done, that accurately enables the targeting and filtering of your ideal candidate, that assists in the employee’s performance appraisal, that balloons your effectiveness in managing for results, is not only a justifiable cost – it’s a profit-contributor!

5. How long will it take to process an order?

As soon as your credit card payment is processed, a ‘successful payment page’ will appear on your screen with download links to your eBook and free bonuses. This should only take a few moments.

6. Who should I contact about problems?

You can contact me directly on the email address or contact number on the ‘Contact’ page at this website. I’ll be happy to clarify or resolve any issue with you.
